It may help control our blood sugar levels which is very important if you are trying to lose weight.
It is important to regulate our blood sugar level because extra blood glucose signals to our pancreas to make more insulin.
But the more insulin our bodies produce, the easier the weight piles on because insulin also encourages our bodies to store the extra sugar as fat.
I love using virgin coconut oil in my cooking. It has a high smoke point which means it can withstand high heat before it breaks down, which alters the oil's flavor and also produces unhealthy compounds called free radicals.
Add Resistance Training Exercises To Your Routine
Even though cardio workouts are most frequently recommended for weight loss, strength training is equally important.
For older adults, particularly women, weight/strength training is crucial for building lean muscles and bone density.
As we age, our muscle mass declines through a process called sarcopenia.
Sarcopenia is a condition of age-related muscle degeneration that becomes more common among people over the age of 50.
This process can also slow down your metabolism, which may lead to weight gain.
So be sure to spend about 30 minutes, 3 to 4 times a week in resistance training exercises like weight lifting.

Most likely you have heard of high-intensity interval training exercises (HIIT). HIIT exercises are one of the best workouts that can boost your metabolism effectively.
HIIT exercise can be any workout that you alternates between intense bursts of activity and periods of less-intense activity (or rest).
For instance, you use a stationary bike to cycle (intense burst activity) as fast as you can for 1 minute and then slowly cycle (rest-activity) for 30 to 45 seconds.
Your HIIT session should last for at least 20 mins per session and do it 3 to 4 times a week. This will help increase your metabolism more than any other exercise.

Include foods that are high in Vitamin B and magnesium into your diet as they will boost your metabolism.

The best source to get your nutrient is from the foods we eat. So try to consume wholesome foods such as spinach, broccoli, egg, meat, milk, seafood, nuts, and seeds.
